and ull know

in between songs
i would pause
anticipating the heartbeats
and the gasps
knowing i would
somehow
make you smile as i sing.


but sometime long ago
without knowing why
or how
i bid you goodnight.
while you were crying
your blues away.


we drifted apart.
simply because
there was nowhere else to go to...
but by simply being
just you...
and just me.
